MEET THE STAFF

For 19 years, Travis has held the helm as the head women’s soccer coach at Western Washington University, a tenure marked by unparalleled success and recognition. His coaching prowess extends beyond the women’s team, having also guided the Vikings’ men’s team for a decade. Under his tutelage, Travis has been honored with the conference coach of the year title thrice and has been named NCAA western regional coach of the year on two occasions.

In his 13-year tenure with WFC Rangers, Travis has propelled both boys’ and girls’ teams to remarkable heights, clinching five Washington Youth Soccer Championship Cup semifinals and securing an RCL Division 1 championship. His coaching influence extends to the high school level, where he has made significant contributions to Oak Harbor High School’s soccer program, in addition to serving on the coaching staff of the Washington State Olympic Development Program.

Travis’s journey in soccer began as a standout player at Seattle Pacific University, culminating in an NCAA Division II national title in 1993. He continued his soccer career in professional indoor leagues, showcasing his talent with the Everett Bigfoot and Lafayette Swampcats.

Committed to continuous growth and development, Travis holds the United States Soccer Federation’s ‘A’ national license and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s Director of Coaching Diploma, a testament to his dedication to excellence in coaching. His leadership extends beyond the sidelines, having previously served as WFC Rangers director of coaching from 2003 to 2010.

For Travis, soccer transcends the field, serving as a platform to impart invaluable life lessons. He believes that “sport mirrors life,” presenting a wonderful opportunity to instill values such as teamwork, problem-solving, self-discipline, and respect in players—a philosophy that underscores his coaching approach and enduring impact on the sport.
