Former WFC Ranger Wins USL Cup
Whatcom FC Rangers alumni, Oscar Jimenez, helps Louisville FC to a 2017 USL Cup for the first time in club history. Oscar, a Mount Vernon native, played his youth career with the Rangers and his college career with WWU.
Oscar had an outstanding professional season with Louisville FC, leading the team with 6 assists as their starting left back. He helped his team to 15 shutouts and a .9 GAA. In front of 14,456 fans, Oscar and Louisville FC completed their season with a 1-0 win over the Swope Park Rangers to win the USL Cup.
Oscar was a four-year player for the WWU Vikings from 2008-11, tying the school record with 22 career assists, he had 69 career points, and 17 goals. He was Skagit Valley Herald Player of the Year for three straight years and co-Northwest League MVP as senior at Mount Vernon HS.
